How often have you gone to an arrival lounge at an airport? Presently in India, we have them only in Mumbai T2 and Delhi T3 (temporarily closed).
I’ve visited this lounge twice, and each time I’ve had a good experience. I wish we had more arrival lounges.
Location
The lounge is located to the left (west) side as we come out of the terminal to the arrival hall. It is quite easy to spot, and we have to turn left just before exiting the terminal. There are a couple of signboards to guide you.
Though it is intended as an arrival lounge, we could still use it as a departure lounge – that is, before the flight! This lounge is way better than the Adani lounge. But the issue is we should have ample time as we would still have to enter the airport, drop bags, if any, and finish security. Or we need to arrive at the airport well in advance.
In case you wish to use the lounge before departure, you would have to contact them as they would send a staff so that you could enter the terminal from the arrival hall.
Access
I accessed with my Citibank-issued Priority Pass. They accept Priority pass, Lounge Buddy, and Dragon Pass Cards. You could also purchase a Lounge & Meal Combo for Rs 944 or a Meal & Shower Combo for Rs 1298.
Seating & Layout
The lounge has three semi-private cubicles with a couple of chairs or a lounging chair. These are located before the common seating or dining areas, making them relatively quieter and suitable for catching some shut eye.
There are multiple seating areas towards one side of the lounge and there are ample charging points.
The dining tables, which are arranged in two- or four-seater formats, are on one side of the lounge.
The lounge has plenty of natural light because it faces the arrivals, and we could pass the time by watching what was going on outside.
Aviserv Arrival Lounge Food & drinks
It was almost lunchtime, and the food was ready around one PM. The food was excellent and of high quality given that this is a lounge rather than a restaurant. It was presented well, and the chefs were even taking photos.
There were cold cuts, cut fruits, and salads on one side. There were a couple of favored water – mint cucumber juice and detox water.
There was one variety of vegetarian soup. There was a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes along with a couple of desserts. Rotis, made freshly, are served at our table.
There is a coffee vending machine. There are no soft drinks or juice but only water in the fridge.
Facilities
Bathrooms & showers
There are a couple of bathrooms for males (and one for females, IIRC). They have a sink, toilet, urinal, and shower place. I did have a shower here on both the occasion I had been here, and it felt so heavenly just being fresh! I had my towel with me, so I just used the facility. You would probably also get a towel if you paid for the shower.
Sleeping Pods
There are about ten sleeping pods, and there are in a separate “quiet zone” enclosure. The pods look comfortable enough, and we can further darken them by pulling over the outer flap if required.
Cloak room
Since this is an arrival lounge, or we may be transiting from Mumbai, they have space for keeping our luggage trolleys. They also advertise having a clock room, so we may even store our luggage if we have to leave out for some reason.
Bottom line
Even though this lounge is fantastic, it might not be good if it gets busy. I went both times when there were fewer people, and for both times I almost certainly received individualized service. The shower is a bonus!
The food option is solid with good variety. Mostly of all, it is freshly made and not prepared elsewhere. There are multiple seating with semi-private cubicles and sleeping pods as well.
As of now, I have only good things to say and won’t even hesitate to use them for BOM departures, subject to having time on my side. Almost it had everything that I would expect from a lounge.
