Review: Primus Lounge Jaipur (JAI)

December 27, 2022 by Ashwin

We had to fly out of Jaipur to Delhi recently and took this chance to visit the only lounge at the Jaipur Airport.

Location and Access

Primus lounge is located airside on the first floor after the security hold area and next to the gates. I accessed the lounge with the Priority Pass received with my Citi Prestige Card. They are accepting Dinners and Visa cards.

Lounge Overview

There is barely enough room in the lounge for even 30 people to sit comfortably. The place was packed and people were even standing when I went around 9 PM. The bad thing is that there isn’t even a waitlist or queue system, so it was a mess with people sitting and standing wherever they pleased.

I tried to get into the lounge anyway because I had a late-night flight to Delhi and wanted to eat before the flight. I was lucky enough to be able to find a seat for dinner. I left the lounge in ten minutes and discovered this peaceful place to unwind close to the gate.

There are no power stations or Wifi.

Lounge Food and Beverage

There were four hot items – two rice and two dal preparations. Additionally, there was a raita and a basic salad. Rotis were brought to the table and served. The food’s quality was average and not particularly noteworthy. The coffee machine gave fantastic strong south Indian-style filter coffee and made it worthwhile for all the trouble. Small water bottles were also available for use.

Bottom line

Primus Lounge is a small and cramped lounge which just a meal-before-flight place rather than a lounge where we relax before the flight.

If you don’t want a meal, I wouldn’t even bother going to this lounge; even better, we could pay for the meal and wait in peace until boarding the aircraft.
